Wildlife Crime Bulletin August 2017

Welcome to the 2017 Summer Edition of Education for Nature – Vietnam's Wildlife Crime Bulletin!

In this issue, we spotlight the arrest of the suspected leader of a major rhino horn trafficking network. We also review the progress Vietnamese courts have made in punishing criminals and feature those provinces where local authorities are making a difference in combating wildlife crime.

This issue makes the case that an end to bear bile farming is near, as more provinces become “bear-free provinces” throughout Vietnam. In addition, there is a spotlight on crime featuring an informative discussion on the issues facing pangolins and macaques. A four-month review highlighting nationwide cases from our wildlife crime logs has also been included.

All our previous issues can be downloaded from the ENV website: http://bit.ly/2kQRWUk. Please feel free to share this email with others in your network who may be interested in wildlife protection and the work of ENV.
