Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV) has produced 2,000 puzzles promoting bear protection, which will be distributed to children in bear farm hotspot communities as part of ENV’s “End Bear Farming” campaign.
Each month, ENV carries out activities in hotspot communities where 50-100 bear farms are concentrated. Activities include events in local markets and schools, messaging aired on local public address systems, and visits to neighbors of bear farmers to promote awareness and ask them to raise their voices in support of ending bear farming in their communities.
The new puzzles are just one of a variety of resources distributed in schools, markets, and amongst neighbors. The puzzle designs are based on artwork produced by Vietnamese children during a competition several years ago. Each puzzle includes a message promoting bear protection and is comprised of 80 pieces.
Limited distribution will also be available to state agencies and organizations working in areas where bear farming remains a problem.
